It also hosts a hot-ticket gala every fall to celebrate new work and achievements in performance art.\n \nProspect worked with Performa for its fall 2018 event, which honored Christo and Jeanne-Claude, the husband-and-wife artist duo known for their vibrant, large-scale environmental sculptures. The gala featured a dessert ceremony designed by Antoni Miralda, a Spanish artist and long-time friend of Christo’s. On the occasion of the Performa 2018 Gala in honor of Christo & Jeanne-Claude Prospect NY and Performa collaborated on a special piece commemorating the iconic façade of El Internacional by Antoni Miralda, which was once located on 219 W. Broadway in TriBeCa. El Internacional opened in 1984, taking over old-school restaurant Teddy’s –the name Teddy’s was camouflaged into the façade of the new restaurant, highlighting the apostrophe in gold and giving the piece its name, Teddy’s Apostrophe.
